ABOUT THE EPISODE:

When the cat's away, the mice will play... Tani is out this episode, but Nathan and Auk bring you another great episode of The Path Podcast. They start off the episode with a discussion about Sedona, Arizona and go into more thoughts about riding trips. They share some tips, thoughts, and stories about riding with others.

Nathan lets his inner nerd out when he asks Auk a ridiculous engineerding question: When you go to buy a Santa Cruz Bronson to replace your Kona Process 153, how will you gauge whether it's a successful purchase and how will you measure success? This leads to some thoughts on making decisions on buying bikes.

PLUS

-  Mountain biking trip tool kit. Nathan shares some tips on what tools and parts to carry along on a trip.

-  Nathan's Trans Provence plans. Nathan raced the 2015 version of the Trans Provence and is planning to go back in 2016. He shares some information about his 2015 experience and what he plans to do for 2016.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

Auk is in charge, so heads up. The guys set the show up with a real agenda. Tani leads off with a correction and then Nathan gets geeky on reach and fit calculations for his new Santa Cruz Highball. Not surprisingly, they get off track and into a full dropper post discussion.

GoPro. Do you use one or not? Nathan, Tani, and Auk tackle the issue with GoPro's and video in general that we all struggle with - producing the video afterward. With the convenience, accessibility, and quality of phone and small cameras, do GoPro and competitors still have a spot?

PLUS

-  Bike Park Rider Etiquette. Nathan's friend sent him some rules for the bike park.

-  MAN DOWN!! Tani shares a funny story.

Being rider-focused brings us one big step closer to you, the riders. It allows us to work with you one-on-one, ensuring you get the bike that's dialed for you. We provide extensive customization options, from build kits to frame colors, all at a very competitive price point--we're not here to make mountain biking more expensive!

By communicating directly with you, our fellow mountain bikers, you can provide feedback to ensure we make the best bikes and are always supporting and growing the mountain biking community. Increasing trail access, ridership, and knowledge about mountain bikes are some of our primary goals. By riding a Guerrilla Gravity bike, you are helping to build the community.

Our frames are designed, tested, and built in-house here in Denver, Colorado.

The Being Dad Show is back. In this episode, Ben gives an update of what's going on with the show, then interviews Daniel Byrd, who is the Program Director of Kids on Bikes in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They discuss their current lives as a dad, including the levels of raising their voices and what normal is. Daniel is a father of two young twin boys and shares his stories about what it's like.

ABOUT KIDS ON BIKES:

"Kids on Bikes mission is to inspire and empower all kids to lead healthy, active and happy lives through biking.

The freedom, joy, health and friendship that come from exploring your neighborhood by bike is one many of us cherish.   In addition there are tremendous health benefits from riding your bike everyday.  We want to make biking possible for kids from all walks of life, regardless of income.  We believe that by transforming communities, one neighborhood at a time, we can make an incredible impact in the lives of children.  Our top three priorities that will allow all children to own and ride a bike are to provide access to rideable bikes, to empower children in bike safety and to encourage kids and families to ride more frequently through organized events.

Make a decision to help. We are offering a simple solution to bring the joy, health, freedom and confidence that comes from riding a bike.  For $300 (or $25 per month), you can sponsor a child to go through the Let’s Pedal earn-a-bike program where they participate in 10 weeks of hands on bike riding and at the end earn a new bike, helmet, lock and pump."

E-bikes are coming and they are a hot topic in mountain biking. Will they end mountain biking as we know it? Do e-bikes add to the experience? Drew gives you his opinions. What do you think? Do they have a place on the trail?

Technical trails vs. easier trails is another growing hot topic. Could we be on a collision course of trail users that could adversely affect trail use? Let us know your thoughts.

If you or someone you know is in charge of trail projects or organizing work days for your group, Drew wants you to email him. Share your projects and when your work days are, and he'll share that information in future episodes.

If you have any questions, comments, or ideas for the next episode, contact us at info@mountainbikeradio.com.
