ABOUT THE EPISODE

Here’s the answer to some of your questions about the recent happenings around the Potato Farm. Word is that the crew got fired at the coal mine, but that can neither be confirmed or denied. Dirt Rag Dirt Fest PA 2019 Show Page

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Maurice Tierney is the Publisher and Founder of Dirt Rag Magazine. He sits down with Ben and Ben to discuss the history of Dirt Rag, Dirt Fest, and more. A great discussion if you're looking for some insight into what Dirt Rag is all about, have a listen!

-----------

RELATED SHOW LINKS

Dirt Rag Magazine - https://dirtragmag.com/

 ----------

ABOUT DIRT FEST

Maurice and Elaine Tierney started Dirt Rag in 1989, creating a magazine that provided an inclusive forum where readers shared their stoke for the riding, culture, and lifestyle of mountain biking. After having a great time at the legendary Jim Thorpe Mountain Bike Weekend, the pair decided that Dirt Rag was in a position to translate the magazine’s in-print stoke to an in-person “gathering of the tribe.”

The first edition of Dirt Fest took place in 1991 at Camp Soles, a YMCA youth camp east of Pittsburgh. The original event was decidedly chill. There was no vendor expo bristling with the bleeding edge of bicycle technology. Demo rides amounted to swapping bikes with a newfound friend. There was a lake, a bonfire, and a bicycle polo field. Nighttime entertainment consisted of an attendee strumming a guitar at the group bonfire—a far cry from The Earthtones jamming for a circus tent full of partying mountain bikers.

The Path Podcast

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

The band is back together. Nathan, Tani, and Auk are in person and back at it. Auk got his new Santa Cruz Megatower AXS build and gives you the lowdown. They then spend some time discussing the details about that bike. In true Path fashion, that bike discussion turns into a discussion about geometry, Tani’s trip, and a ton more.

Tani shares his experience of the trails he rode and that rolls into a discussion of bottom bracket height and mullets. More Pole updates....

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Nicole Bloch is a Dirt Rag Dirt Fest groupie. She is a huge fan of the event, the people, the atmosphere, and makes sure to put it on her calendar every year.

About Erra Creations: Erra Creations was imagined in 2011 after messing around with my great grandmother’s broken costume jewelry, then a mocking dare by my best friend to make jewelry from used bicycle parts, and everything since has been created from crazy ideas by me and wonderful custom requests! Handmade with love and care, Erra is a fun look at things we use in our lives and adorn our bodies and homes with.

Jay Washer joins MTB Ben to chat about his product, FReD, as well as his company and history. Be sure to check out Fredisatool.com!

About FReD: FReD (Fork Retention Device) is produced using a non traditional method called 3D printing. This eliminates many of the design restrictions that come along with injection molding. It also allows us to make production changes and offer one-off versions exclusively produced in the US. It is a time-intensive process, each FReD takes approximately 12 hours to complete. We think that 3D printing is the future of end part production and is becoming more popular as technology advances. Take a look at the brief overview of the process below.
