Gene is joined by Steven Park from 9point8. Listen in to learn about the 9point8 Fall Line in this Product Interview with Steven. Gene and Steven give a good rundown of the features, construction, and more. Gene learned a ton on this product interview with 9point8 and we hope you do too.
About 9point8:
"Nine Point Eight Inc. was established by a small group of mountain bike enthusiasts, who all just happened to be top design engineers. The first years were focused on product development, prototyping, and testing. Dedicated to excellence in design, and abhorrent of compromise, this group set-about designing, engineering, prototyping, and testing (lots and lots of testing) superior bicycle components. Nine Point Eight Inc. is located in Ancaster, near the beautiful Niagara escarpment. The design office and factory is conveniently close to excellent riding on the escarpment and surrounding areas.Every product is thoroughly engineered and optimized. Then carefully manufactured, and tested. Only when it meets our unbelievably high standards, is it released to market. Nine Point Eight products are designed, tested and assembled in Canada to the highest standards of quality."

Bobby Wintle is co-owner of District Bicycles in Stillwater, Oklahoma and the main instigator at the Land Run 100. He was out at Sea Otter doing some work, having some fun, and spreading his endless energy. He sat down with Ben and chatted about life out in the Tour Divide, giving hugs at the Land Run, owning a bike shop, and more. Be sure to mark your calendars for March 15-16, 2019.
About the Land Run 100:
“These roads have a depth of history, and a soul. They are unique, unforgiving, ever-changing, but always red. On April 22, 1889, cannon-fire signaled the beginning of the first Land Run in Stillwater, OK, the home and start/finish line of the Land Run 100. At the heart of this event are some of the most rugged and daunting, beautiful and memorable roads in the Oklahoma country. They take on a personality of their own. But they are also marked by the people who travel far and work hard to ride them. Making yourself a part of these roads makes them a part of you.”

Erik de Brun is one of the co-owners of Redshift Sports. He took some time while at Sea Otter to chat with Ben Redshift as a company, the products, his background, pole vaulting, and more.
About Redshift Sports:
"Redshift Sports was founded in 2013 by Stephen, Erik, and Scott with the goal of making components that help cyclists and triathletes ride further, faster, and more comfortably on the bikes they already own. We are a small group of mechanical engineers who happen to be avid (if somewhat average) cyclists and triathletes.
Prior to founding Redshift Sports, we managed (and still manage) Ripple Design LLC, an engineering consulting and product design firm in Philadelphia. Ripple Design works on a wide range of products, from medical devices to large-scale landmine clearance equipment. We drew on this extensive design, prototyping and manufacturing experience to bring our first product - the Switch Aero System - to market.
In June 2013, we launched the Switch Aero System on Kickstarter, a crowd-funding platform that lets independent backers jump-start small businesses and projects. The response was overwhelming - people loved the idea of maximizing the versatility of their existing road bikes. We raised 2.5 times our original funding goal, which allowed us to bring the system to market. We can't thank our Kickstarter backers enough - none of this would have been possible without their support! You can check out the original Kickstarter video below - the system has evolved a lot since those first prototype units!
In late 2015, we launched our second product - the ShockStop - on Kickstarter. The response was again fantastic and with our backers help we were able to bring the ShockStop to market in 2016."

The Dirty Kanza mission:
The mission of the Dirty Kanza 200 is to provide the ultra-endurance cycling community with a high quality event at an exceptional value. The event will be structured in such a way to be extremely challenging, but at the same time possible to complete. We will strive to effectively utilize the ruggedness and remoteness of the Flint Hills region to properly challenge the self-sufficiency of event participants, while at the same time provide an appropriate level of support, to ensure an enjoyable, life-enriching cycling experience.
