Live on location at Up North Guided Tours Ben sits Matt down, hands him a drink, and they work on getting to the bottom of Matt's dislike of fatbikes. This has been a great week to experience some good groomed riding for Matt. After riding real groomed trails Ben wanted to see if Matt's perspective of the fat tires has changed, and if so how. Josh Washlow spent almost every summer up on Lake Owen during the 1980s canoeing, camping, water skiing, and playing in the woods. Now he operates a new guiding services in Northern Wisconsin, near the Chequamegon National Forest. He joins the show to discuss Up North Guided Tours, the area, the trails, the food, and the overall experience. A good listen, especially if you’ve been considering heading north to some of the best fatbike trails around.
About Up North Guided Tours:
“Along with our guide services, we provide high end fat bikes with front suspension, helmets, illumination for night rides, and hydration for our participants. Along with the equipment our guided tour fee includes personalized route planning, instruction, transportation (to and/or from our shop and our tour route), expert guides, a short video emailed to you after your tour, and fun are all included in our prices.
For transportation, we have a 4×4 passenger van with a trailer for 12 bikes. Our base camp location has a private changing area, a retail store where your can purchase fat bike apparel, and plenty of parking is available!
If you schedule a tour in advance, we will pick you up and take you back to Bayfield or Ashland for $20/person or Duluth for $30/person. We can give you time to shop and eat in Cable after the tour, as well. Also, we did open up a new area in the Cable area to ride fat bike, and yeah, we are doing a TON of grooming for your winter biking experience! You gotta get up here!”
