Kelli usually charges for this type of coaching and she's sharing it for free! Give it a listen and share with all your riding friends (unless you don't want them to ride past you!)

Bob McCarty joined Drew to discuss his extensive experience in mountain biking, racing at the pro level with his new team, training, and his mountain bike skills training business down in Florida.

Who is Bob McCarty?

If you were down in Florida, you wouldn't be asking this question. Bob is a well-respected and looked up to racer in the Southeast. He is someone Drew has looked up to as an up-and-coming mountain biker back in 2005. Bob has been racing mountain bikes at a high level since the 1990's, including an 18th overall in the 2013 ProXCT series. He also runs a well-established Mountain Bike Skills Training business in the Miami area called McCarty Training.

Guitar Ted shares what he found at Interbike in Las Vegas. Three areas of cycling have really taken off.

Fatbikes have blown up over the last three years and now companies are commonly offering carbon goodies, including forks, frames, and rims. Many other fatbike options have also come to market, including tires, gear, and other components. This year the 27.5 inch wheel size has taken over this year's news and it has become a mainstay in many company lineups. In the background, the gravel riding scene has been experiencing huge growth in rides and races filled to capacity.

Listen in to hear a discussion about what Guitar Ted saw of each of the three groups in Vegas.

Host Drew Edsall is joined by Rotem Ishay and Skyler Trujillo while on location at Interbike in Las Vegas. Rotem is a 9-time Israeli National XC Mountain Bike Champ and Skyler is one of the top young racers.

Listen in as they discuss everything from blood testing for performance and recovery to the Cross Vegas race and the Boo Bus. Listeners will get some great insight into Rotem's studies and how they apply to performance.

The Boo Bicycles - TrainingPeaks Cyclocross team will be based around young and promising Colorado riders Skyler Trujillo and Rotem Ishay. Both riders are focused on taking their racing to a higher level over the course of the season with a schedule that will take them out of their natural Colorado habitat and to UCI races all over the country.

Skyler caught the nation’s attention by being selected to race in the U23 Cyclocross World Championships last February in Louisville, KY. Though Rotem raced a more regional cyclocross schedule last year, he had strong results against local professionals and has three medals from Collegiate Mountain Bike and Cyclocross Nationals to his name in the last year alone.

About Boo Bicycles:

"Boo Bicycles was founded in 2009 by Nick Frey after graduating from Princeton with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After successfully racing a prototype bamboo-carbon fiber bicycle in the spring of 2008, Nick was contacted by James Wolf, an industrial designer and master craftsman…

James Wolf, a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design in Industrial Design, has over 15 years of experience working with all types of bamboo. His company, James Wolf Designs, has specialized in custom structural bamboo installations as well as high-end furniture, fly rods, boats, and much more.

As a professional cyclist, multiple national champion, and mechanical engineer, Nick brought his wealth of experience in the high-end bicycle world to the table. As a master craftsman and talented designer, James took Nick’s ideas and made them a reality. Together, the two have created the highest performance, highest quality bamboo bicycles in the world."

Brian has taken a little different approach to his 2013 racing season. He's ventured to new-to-him national events, starting off with the Epic Rides Whiskey Off Road where he had a very strong 12th place finish. He raced the Trans Sylvania Epic Stage Race at the end of May, placing 3rd.

In addition to his usual WORS races recently, he took a trip out to Grand Junction, Colorado to race in the inaugural Epic Rides Grand Junction Off Road, where he placed 6th.

With that great summer behind him, he went back to his bread and butter of racing the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival. He took his 5th win of the popular Midwestern race. Listen in as he discusses his race, what it's like to win a 5th Chequamegon, and other reflections of the race.

This is an episode from 2012 that is now making the archives and app.

The Vapor Trail 125 is one of the toughest 1-day mountain bike races out there. It is coming up in a few days, so it's appropriate to upload this archived episode.

Tim joins the show again to discuss his latest adventure, the Vapor Trail 125. He tells his story of what it's like for someone coming from near sea level in Duluth, Minnesota to the high alpine terrain of the Central Rocky mountains to begin a 125-mile, 20,000-feet-of-climbing race at 10pm and finish a dirty, beaten, and triumphant soul.

The discussion about armadillos continues on from last week's show. They crawl, they squeal, they jump out in front of you. Listen in to hear more about those weird little creatures.

They share their experiences at this past weekend's Skool of Hard Nox 50 in the Tombigbee National Forest. Andrea took the win, Matt had a bad day, and Kenny sounds like it went ok, despite a possibly heart attack, stroke, or perhaps just a lack of fitness and toughness. We'll let you decide.

The discussion of race tshirts became a lengthy, somewhat spirited debate about what they should be. If race directors want an honest opinion, this is the show. Bottom line, don't just give out whatever shirt is cheapest because it's likely to end up as a rag...immediately.

If you don't have time to listen to anything, at least skip to the end and listen to the screeching armadillo. Warning: don't be drinking anything when you do.

Be sure to check out the Twitter discussion that was going on during the show.

Jeff Kerkove joins the show to discuss his recent experience at the Breck Epic in Breckenridge, Colorado. He, along with teammate, Yuki Ikeda, took the win in the 6-day Men's Duo Category. They had a great race all week, taking the win in each of the individual stages. It did not come easy though. Jeff and Yuki pushed each other hard, raced as a team to get through the painful climbing and enjoy the sweet, flowing singletrack to grab the final #1 and much coveted belt buckle.

The Breck Epic is a 6-day and 3-day stage race based in the middle of one of the best mountain biking areas in the country and world. It is composed of large, backcountry loops between 35 and 50 miles run in a cloverleaf format; each loop starts and finishes within a mile from downtown Breckenridge and utilizes the sprawling network of trails in both Summit and Park Counties.

The Breck Epic's first rule? It's "Don't Be a Dick."

Danielle Musto, the host of Girls & Gears, recently raced the very competitive and popular Ore to Shore in Marquette, Michigan. While it's not her first experience at Ore to Shore, it is her first time racing it on a fatbike.

Danielle finished 9th out of 63 women in a time of 3:11:46, which would have placed her 254th out of 634 men! She did this while racing on a new carbon fatbike. Danielle only had a few hours to get fitted and ready on her carbon Salsa Beargrease.

Listen in to hear about her race and her thoughts about the new carbon fatbike racing machine!

The WORS Report gives fans of the Wisconsin Off Road Series a look at the previous weekend's racing. The WORS reporter, Todd Nutter, is back this week to recap one of the most popular races of WORS.

The Reforestation Ramble is one of the more popular races for good reason. It's a fun course with a good mix of singletrack and fire roads. This past weekend's racing was fast and furious, as expected. Listen in to hear from Todd, as well as Kathy from WIN Cycling, and race director Shawn Hauser of the Titletown Flyers Cycling Team.

The next race of the series is the Treadfest at Lake Geneva Grand Resort. Be sure to check the extras on the app to this episode for all the information you need to know for the Treadfest race!

Just Riding Along is Presented by ProGold Biking

This week's Just Riding Along is a mass collection of questions that resulted from a Facebook Page contest to get a pair of Mountain Bike Radio socks.

It's a good listen. Kenny steps it up a notch early on with some great stories about armadillos. Andrea spends the first ten minutes of the episode laughing at him. Matt is angry early on because he wants to answer questions. It somehow moves on and gives listeners a ton of info.
