Nikki McComsey, Executive Director, and Daniel Byrd, Program Director, of Kids on Bikes join the show to discuss the organization, including the history, past and current projects, the current matching fundraising campaign, and how they help support and transform kids' lives through bikes. This is a great episode that reminds all of us that there is more to the cycling community than just the newest and shiniest objects and the fastest racers.

ABOUT KIDS ON BIKES:
"Kids on Bikes mission is to inspire and empower all kids to lead healthy, active and happy lives through biking.
The freedom, joy, health and friendship that come from exploring your neighborhood by bike is one many of us cherish. In addition there are tremendous health benefits from riding your bike everyday. We want to make biking possible for kids from all walks of life, regardless of income. We believe that by transforming communities, one neighborhood at a time, we can make an incredible impact in the lives of children. Our top three priorities that will allow all children to own and ride a bike are to provide access to rideable bikes, to empower children in bike safety and to encourage kids and families to ride more frequently through organized events.
Make a decision to help. We are offering a simple solution to bring the joy, health, freedom and confidence that comes from riding a bike. For $300 (or $25 per month), you can sponsor a child to go through the Let’s Pedal earn-a-bike program where they participate in 10 weeks of hands on bike riding and at the end earn a new bike, helmet, lock and pump."
