ABOUT THIS EPISODE

We hear from Richard Edwards of IMBA Trail Solutions in what is Part 1 of our two part conversation. In this first part we discuss Richard’s history in advocacy, and how Trail Solutions began. Part 2 of our conversation will be available on February 19th.

About Brent:

ABOUT THE EPISODE

Santa Cruz first caught my attention years ago through their involvement with the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, and the other events they have been involved with that also included an aspect of trail work. Then in November of 2019 Santa Cruz rolled out the “Paydirt Fund”. This really caught my attention and I’m sure others as well. After all, how many companies are giving out One Million Dollars over 3 years with no geographical limitations, and very few other limitations?

This brought me to Katie Zaffke who is the Paydirt Fund Program Coordinator. This is one of the most inspiring interviews I had the opportunity to take part in yet. Tune in to learn more about the Santa Cruz and the Paydirt fund.

Topics in the show include:

  • Katie Zaffke’s back story
  • The backstory about Santa Cruz supporting trail communities such as the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship.
  • How the Paydirt Fund came about
  • The details on some Paydirt Fund recipients
  • Details on what makes a good project for the Paydirt Fund
  • Breaking News – Tune in to see what program is morphing in the name of supporting those who help push trail projects.
  • Closing Comments.
