Just Riding Along Show Page

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Just keeping up with the Bicycling Joneses, so they just throw a bunch at you in Version 2 of BoD's.

SHOW DONATIONS

- Dominik Golik of Germany gave $25 with note: “Great show, keep up the great work.”
- Ben Jones gave $50 with note: "Been listening since your blog talk days and you guys are awesome! Y'all have gotten me through some long road trips and I wanted to pay up - no dig, no ride! Oh, and someone has to say it: virtually every complaint Matt had about the trail 429 was totally wrong. That bike looks pretty rad and 157 rear spacing makes way more sense than that stupid boost shit we got stuck with right after 142 came out. Still tho, it was a solid rant that I enjoyed greatly. Keep it up. I tip a cold beer, some warm maple syrup, and a hot nugget in all y'all's general direction. Cheers! BMFJ"
- Austin Fenwick of North Carolina gave $10
- Aaron Willard of Keene, New Hampshire (Ben’s sidenote: Ben has direct relatives who live in Keene, NH) gave $10 with note: “Love the show keep it up, helps get me through work and now injury (yes, riding related - the bike's ok). Your show has had a large influence on my riding and purchase decisions. I am the proud owner of a new $anta Cruz Chameleon 2018 27.5+ R build kit (choose it over there Tallboy - not disappointed). I had my local shop build it and in the process traded out the SRAM Level brakes for my deore XTs off my old bike (less than 300 miles on them). Old bike was a Niner E.M.D. circa 2013 with Reba RLT that I thrashed over the course of my first 3 out of 4 years of riding. Never change guys, love the character, humor, and overall how genuine you guys are. Andrea is my fav, don't be mad Mmmm maple syrup......in Black coffee - try it”
- Michael Hedlund of Duluth, Minnesota gave $25
- Goof Hall of Amarillo, Texas gave $55 with note: “Thanks for entertaining us on the #katandgoofdoepicshit road trips. Here's Fiddy Dollhairs and lil extra for that side of aioli at the Fritz. Cuz mayo is for the common folk! - Kat and Goof Amarillo, Texas”

Just Riding Along Show Page

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Matt and Kenny double team a rant about bicycle vs car tire cost. Later they remind you Joe Rogan talks to his listeners that way all the time. Kenny has been on the lifts already out at Deer Valley. Andrea still (really, still loving it) is liking the Mayhem. After a quick trip to Spot we found out she can run a piggy back shock.  Tour Divide Riders have started hitting town.

Sea Otter Show Page

Mark Landsaat – Noble Bikes

Mark Landsaat was out at Sea Otter in April to share his relaunch of his new bike brand, Noble Bikes. Mark has some great experience in bike design in the cycling industry and shares his thoughts with Ben in a sit down interview in the Noble Bikes booth at Sea Otter.

About Noble Bikes: The Noble brand name was born on a bike ride. Me and my buddy Dave Pearson went on a mountain bike ride together and as we were riding up Corrall Pass I was thinking about possible brand names. At the top, Corrall Pass splits into several trails. We choose trail #1184 Noble Knob. While catching our breath after reaching the top I threw it out there, what about "Noble"?

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Gene is joined by Steven Park from 9point8. Listen in to learn about the 9point8 Fall Line in this Product Interview with Steven. Gene and Steven give a good rundown of the features, construction, and more. Gene learned a ton on this product interview with 9point8 and we hope you do too.

About 9point8:
"Nine Point Eight Inc. was established by a small group of mountain bike enthusiasts, who all just happened to be top design engineers. The first years were focused on product development, prototyping, and testing. Dedicated to excellence in design, and abhorrent of compromise, this group set-about designing, engineering, prototyping, and testing (lots and lots of testing) superior bicycle components. Nine Point Eight Inc. is located in Ancaster, near the beautiful Niagara escarpment. The design office and factory is conveniently close to excellent riding on the escarpment and surrounding areas.Every product is thoroughly engineered and optimized. Then carefully manufactured, and tested. Only when it meets our unbelievably high standards, is it released to market. Nine Point Eight products are designed, tested and assembled in Canada to the highest standards of quality."
