ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Matt reconnected with Taylor Lideen at 24 Hours of Old Pueblo. After a round of high fives and few more rain showers, Taylor Lideen set himself to his goal of riding twenty laps in the 24 Solo Male category. After a few touch and go moments in the night, Taylor got it together and set a new solo course record (and winning in the process). Tune in to hear the many year long story of how Taylor came to win the Solo Male category and why he doesn't consider it a solo effort.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Joshua Kleve is the League Director of the Minnesota High School Cycling League. He joins the show to share a little bit about himself, his role with the league, and details of what the league has going on these days. Joshua gives you a glimpse into his riding and coaching past. He also gives you a history of the league, details the current status, and shares some thoughts about where it’s all going.

We are going to be diving further into youth cycling in 2018, so if you’re a coach of any of the NICA leagues, we’d love to have you join the show to share what you have going on in your part of the world.

Do you have a person or company you want to hear on Mountain Bike Radio? If so, let us know at info@mountainbikeradio.com.

About the MN League

The Minnesota High School Cycling League, founded in 2012, is a state-wide independent activity provider for student-athletes in 7th to 12th grade. Our mission is to build strong bodies, strong minds and strong character through cycling, regardless of ability level.

Simply put, we get kids on bikes. Student-athletes from 7th through 12th grade come from all corners of the state to participate in races and programs. The majority of these kids have never ridden a mountain bike, let alone raced prior to participating in the league.  Our association has grown from just over a hundred riders to over 1,500 riders!

The MN League has become more than a racing program, we are a youth development program. Each year we get hundreds of new student-athletes, coaches, volunteers and spectators. We firmly believe that cycling and an outdoor experience will leave a lasting impression on young minds and bodies.
